OCIA stands for Order of Christian Initiation for Adults. It is a program designed to help non-Catholics and non-practicing Catholics learn more about Catholicism through a series of classes, discussions, and prayer times. Click here for more information.
The Pensacola-Tallahassee Diocese has also become a partnering diocese with Franciscan At Home from the University of Steubenville. This means that any adult in the diocese can take an on-line course at no cost. To become a learner go to: franciscanathome.com
Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Church? If you have ever wondered: Is the Catholic Church the first and only true church? Where did the papacy come from? Has there always been a pope? Why is the Church involved in politics; shouldn't the Church disengage from the political sphere and be a spiritual influence instead? Is the Church anti-Semitic? What's the deal with Mary, saints, relics, etc…? Which church came first Catholic or Orthodox? Please click here to view videos of previous classes!
This class is especially helpful for those considering joining the Church through the OCIA process.
Adult faith formation requires a unique approach, so that it can address the needs of those who are new to the Catholic faith as well as those Catholics who are seeking to deepen their faith. Offering group classes for community based learning and independent opportunities to fit crazy work/life schedules.
Below are several resources for both new and current Catholic Adults. If you have questions about these resources or classes that might be a good fit for you in your Faith journey please contact our Pastoral Associate, Joe Santos at 850-893-1837.
