There are no specific requirements, though reverence for the occasion is the guiding factor when considering what your child should wear.
GIRLS typically wear white dresses, with white tights and shoes. Girls will often do something special with their hair, perhaps a veil or flowers.
BOYS typically show a greater variety. Some wear full suits; others dress shirts with tie and dress pants. Some wear all white, others dark colors, khaki, or even seersucker. Still others express their cultural background in their First Communion attire.
There are several full outfits for girls and boys, including shoes, that have been donated to the parish over the years to be loaned out to families for First Communion. Please let us know if you’d like to drop by and look at what is available to borrow. (All my children have borrowed clothes for First Communion—it’s a great time and money saver! –Diana)
