On May 24–25, the Haiti Outreach Ministry will appeal for donations to support Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Lafond, Haiti. Father Rousseau has identified three priority needs, all focused on sustainable livestock programs. Funds will help purchase 30 goats, up to 10 cows, and bulk chicken feed with vitamins to support the parish poultry project. The feed will be sold to local farmers, with profits helping to feed the parish's own chickens. Click title for more details!Read More

Our Mission
The mission of the Mercy & Justice Core Community is to support parish social ministry
activities related to corporal & spiritual works of mercy, companionship to those in need,
education on Catholic social teaching & social justice programs, community service, global solidarity, and social justice advocacy. See bottom of this page for upcoming list of events and service opportunities!Current Projects
Annual Social Justice Symposium.
Cities for Life. An annual international evening of prayer and witness for those on death row, for their victims, and for the families of both, and for the elimination of the death penalty.
Grocery cart for Good News Ministries at all Masses and weekly delivery to Good News and their clients.
Stuff the Truck. An annual weekend-long collection of food and toiletries on behalf of Good News Ministries.
Big Bend Catholics Caring for Creation, a partnership with 5 other Tallahassee parishes to protect the environment by advocating for green building practices; roadside cleanup and community education.
Meals for the Sick and Homebound, parishioners helping parishioners by preparing and delivering meals when requested.
Partnership with Haiti Parish.We finished our work with the leadership of St. Dominique parish in Marigot, Haiti to provide emergency food after natural disasters. We will soon travel again to Haiti soon to meet with Fr. Mark Stanley Rosseau and leaders of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church of Lafond, near Jacmel. It is our expectation that those discussions will lead to a new five year relationship to jointly create sustainable programs to improve the lives of poor Haitian families. -
