Parish Involvement Community
To engage parishioners and offer opportunities to connect with
the Parish, and promote avenues for outreach to the
broader community.
The Parish Involvement Community plans and coordinates efforts to encourage the active use of each parishioner's God given gifts and talents to assist others. Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit we reinforce the call to share the Good News of Jesus Christ as a way of life first within the parish, and then to the broader community. This committed group of parishioners meets each year in August to evaluate the previous year's activities and formulate goals for the coming year. Regular meetings are held once monthly. Meeting minutes and plans can be found in the sidebar of this page when available.
“…all good giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no alteration or shadow caused by change.” James 1:17
Good Shepherd parish is committed to encouraging the development of all our parishioners as good stewards or caretakers of all the gifts God has bestowed on each of us. “As Christian stewards, we receive God’s gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them lovingly in justice with others, and return them with increase to the Lord.” “Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response.” USCCB 1992 As we discover that everything we are and have is a gift from God, using our gifts and sharing the Good News of Jesus becomes not just words we use, but a lifestyle we live! In using our God-given gifts, we are also called to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all who we meet and serve. As our Parish Vision states we are called,
“To invite everyone to a life-changing encounter with Jesus, the Way and the Truth and the Life, the Road to the New Jerusalem.”
