THANK YOU for Volunteering at Good Shepherd!! Any ministries working with children or vulnerable adults will be asked to complete the diocesan required compliance procedures for our diocese. Please obtain a “Fingerprint Waiver Form” from your Ministry leader or at the Parish Office. Once the form has been completed (please write the Ministry you will be volunteering with on the form) and fingerprinting has been scheduled, complete the 3 online courses your ministry leader directs you to take.

Online Courses
The Pensacola Tallahassee Diocese is always trying to improve, and make more available, it's safety education and prevention programs. It is with this in mind that they have expanded the use of the Internet and have a selected Armatus through Praesidium as the diocesan Safe Environment Training provider.
There are required courses to be taken by all employees of the Diocese and volunteers depending upon the ministry.
Your ministry leader will direct you on how to log on to Armatus to complete these required courses.

- Catechists, including Substitutes and Aides

- Vacation Bible School
- Lectors-Youth: instructor(s)
- Altar Server: instructor(s)
- Music Ministry volunteers working with Youth

- Blue Knights / Little Flower*
*Ministries marked with an asterisk must pay the $65 charge for fingerprint processing.
Note: Trinity Catholic School and John Paul II Catholic High School volunteers must contact their school for requirements.

How Long are Background Checks and Fingerprints Valid?
Criminal background checks and fingerprints are valid for five (5) years. After five years, a new criminal background check MUST be completed. This consists of: completing a new VECHS waiver from the Parish Office, obtaining instructions for making an appointment to have your fingerprints scanned at the remote site, and completing the fingerprint scan.
Reprocessing must be completed one month prior to expiration of previous criminal background check.

Diocesan Victim Assistance
The Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee is committed to healing the hurting hearts of sexual abuse victims. This diocese has established Victim Assistance Coordinators who are experienced and trained counselors. These coordinators are available to help persons who have been sexually abused by a priest, deacon, or other church personnel.
